Executive Chef and Owner Joe McDonald opened Fisherman Joe's in the spring of 1992 with a vision of creating Bradenton's finest seafood dining experience. Trained at The Culinary Institute, Joe infuses every dish he creates with his extensive knowledge and passion for perfection. Chef Joe started his career at the former Pete Reynards, a well reviewed Seafood restaurant located on Holmes Beach. Joe then went on to gain the widest experience possible, between Culinary schools, college and on the job training under some of the finest Chef's on the West Coast of Florida worked at some of the most prestigious restaurants in our area including  Dining-room Manager of the World's first Holiday Inn Resort on Longboat Key, Florida.   Once word of his ability got out, offers from many well known restaurants landed on Joe's plate, which took him to the outstanding local Seafood/Restrauant/Market of the Fish Net on Cortez Road, of which Joe managed for many years prior to his opening his own Seafood restaurant at it's present location in downtown Bradenton. In the 1980's, Joe began a career as head chef for the Fishnet Restaurant in Bradenton, Florida. He was given room to experiment, and created quite an eclectic menu. However, he never lost sight of his passion for creative seafood cuisine. He knew that in order to create the dishes he wanted to share with the world, using only the freshest ingredients available, he would have to establish his own restaurant.

Joe opened the doors of Fisherman Joe's in the spring of 1992. Before he created his first dish, he vowed to only use the finest ingredients, and prepare each dish with an infusion of passion and creativity. Critics have been raving ever since. Diners agree.
